Our Journey
The Finix story started long before the company did.
The business was formally established in 2022, but the instincts behind it were shaped much earlier through family travel, Nairobi park memories and years of learning what makes a safari route actually work for guests.
Finix Ventures Ltd was founded on April 28, 2022 by Maxwel Kimathi and his sister Joy Wandia Kimathi. What began as an idea quickly became a purpose-driven company built around heritage, hospitality, and a lifelong connection to Kenya's wildlife.
The roots of Finix Adventures & Safaris trace back to family trips across Kenya's conservancies with their late father, Albert Kimathi and their mother, Catherine Wangui Kimathi. Many of those memories centered on Mokoyeti Picnic Site inside Nairobi National Park, where wildlife viewing, family cookouts and time in the bush created a lasting emotional connection to the park.
During his college years, Maxwel worked as a part time tour guide while also building skills in web design, graphic design, sales, marketing and branding. That combination of field work and practical business experience later became a strong foundation for Finix.
Joy brought equally important strengths through her work with Polished Planners Ltd, where she developed a deeper command of event coordination, itinerary structure and customer experience. Together, they built Finix as a company that values both the emotional side of travel and the operational discipline required to make it run smoothly.

Wildlife route insightMaxwel's connection to wildlife started early through childhood visits to Nairobi National Park and later deepened through hands on guiding work. He brings safari route judgment together with practical skills in design, sales, branding and digital execution.
That combination helps Finix turn safari interest into clearer traveler decisions, stronger destination communication and better-structured journeys from first enquiry to departure.
